LESACHTAL BREAD

TRADITION AND CULTURAL HERITAGE

When the irresistible smell hits your nose, you know that Lesachtal bread is something very special. It has a long history, and many farming families bake the typical bread from Lesachtal natural sourdough to this day.

Even (adventure-)hungry holidaymakers should not miss out on the unique taste of Lesachtal bread. You can find this delicacy fresh every day, for example, at the farmers’ shop.

Excellent flavour

You  notice with every bite that the Lesachtal bread tastes excellent. But did you know that the bread has actually been awarded?

The Lesachtal bread is not only a so-called Slow Food Presidio project, but also a UNESCO cultural heritage.

By the way: In keeping with the UNESCO heritage, the renowned chocolate manufacturer Josef Zotter even created its own sweet 'Lesachtaler WanderBrot'.
