Breathing the clear air, feeling the warm sunshine on the skin – you glide along the River Gail and enjoy the tranquillity of the snow-covered landscape. Classic cross-country skiing, Nordic Cruising or stylish skating: cross-country skiing stars like Ole Einer Björndalen roam the daily freshly groomed cross-country ski trails which cover a total of more than 60 km and are known to be one of Austria’s most snow-reliable trails. The elegant movements are taught in cross-country ski courses and the required equipment can be hired on site.
Small but excellent
The cross-country ski sun trail is situated in the "St. Lorenzner Feld". The trail with its diverse routing and a few ascents and descents winds its way through a stunning landscape – and all that far away from the hustle and bustle!
Lessons and equipment:
If you haven’t tried cross-country skiing yet then we recommend an introduction course. This course takes about 4 hours during which you will learn the most important sequences of movements for classic cross-country skiing. There is also a skating course but it takes longer and requires some practising and physical fitness. Some rental companies offer a cross-country ski package which already includes the equipment.
Biathlon in Obertilliach:
The Biathlon Centre, directly at the cross-country ski trails along the border, provides fans of the Nordic sports with everything they wish for.
