The refuge Obstansersee Hütte at 2304 m above sea level is situated at the Carnic Ridge with great view to the Großglockner. Starting point is Kartitsch.

You can reach us ONLY by foot starting at Kartitsch (sport centre) in about 2,5 hours through Winklertal valley on an old scenic warpath. We offer regional cooking with home-made alpine products like yogurt, curd cheese products and pastries. There are 60 places for accommodation. After returning from a hike you can go on a pedal-boat. The mountain top - the Pfannspitze – is reachable in one hour. Hikes to refuge Filmoorhütte (3 hours) or refuge Sillianerhütte (4 hours) are great daily tours on old warpaths of World War I with a spectacular view to the Sexten Dolomites and the Upper Tauern. You can also use our taxi service for transfers. In the evening you can enjoy international cuisine and original Italian ice-cream in our restaurant “Dorfbergstueberl”. It is at the same time starting point and endpoint of the Gailtal valley hiking trail.
