Hike to Refuge Hochweisssteinhaus

Go to Wiesen by car starting in St. Lorenzen and driving along the main road towards west. In Wiesen branch off to the left towards Frohn. Drive along the asphalt road until you reach the first large bend (turnoff to Oberfrohn). The way to Frohntal valley and refuge Hochweißsteinhaus branches off to the left in this bend. We recommend parking the car here. Follow the way for about two hours until you reach the Ingridhütte (alpine lodge). Walk past the parking lot with gate and reach the Ingridhütte within a short time. Now you can already see your destination. Walk across alpine meadows and small brooks and reach refuge Hochweißsteinhaus located at 1.900 m within about 40 minutes. After a walk of about 2.5 to 3 hours from Frohn you can finally rest in the cosy refuge owned by the Alpine Association. The control stamp is the refuge’s stamp.
