Frontier trail to Untertilliach and Obertilliach

Walk duration to Obertilliach about 3 1/2 hours

Walk past the small church “Eder Kirchl” to the east of tavern “Pasternwirt” down to Gail River. Cross the bridge and branch off to the left towards Sterzen. After 50 m you get to the river and walk along the trail to Wiesen/St. Lorenzen (one hour). The Gail River trail leads westward along the north bank up to the Carinthian border. Cross the bridge (road to Raut) branch off to the right after the bridge and continue along the frontier trail in the East Tyrolean part of Lesachtal valley towards Untertilliach and Obertilliach. It’s possible to return by bus – stops along the main road!
