Alpine Hike Maria Luggau

Walk duration circle hike about 10 hours = 20 points

Start your hike at the tavern “Baeckwirt” and walk to Gail River and then upwards across Ebnertal valley to “Ochsenkofel”. Take the rampant track to Luggauer Böden and reach the first destination – Bödenhütte (2.004 m – a not serviced cabin, control stamp) – walk duration about 3 hours. Follow the slightly ascending old war trail for about 30 minutes to Luggauer Törl (2.232 m) and reach the Carnic high-alpine trail No. 403 featuring a first view to refuge Hochweißsteinhaus. Along the Carnic high-alpine trail you’ll reach this serviced refuge of the Alpine Association in about 2 hours. The descent to Frohntal valley and mountain pasture Ingridalm is shorter and easier. From refuge Hochweißsteinhaus the way leads via Frohntal valley to Frohn and Sterzen and back to Maria Luggau. Walk duration from refuge Hochweißsteinhaus to Maria Luggau about 4 hours.
