Walk to mountain pasture Steineckenalm

The hike to mountain pasture Steineckenalm starts in Liesing (beneath the church) or at the swimming bath. The trail leads southward along Klebasbach brook to Gail River. We turn left after crossing the bridge, hike along Gail River and after about half an hour we reach a hut. We take the forest trail passing to the right of the hut which leads across the forest and features several double bends. After crossing the forest we get to a clearing and a turnoff and take the trail to the right. We cross Kosenbach brook and reach the serviced refuge at mountain pasture Steineckenalm after a short time. We continue after a stop (control stamp) towards Obergail, cross the Obergailerbach brook and reach Obergail after about an hour. Beneath the chapel the way leads us off the road across the forest to Gail River and then back to our starting point.
