Walk duration there and back about 6 1/2 hours = 13 points

We start in Birnbaum towards Kornat and stay on the road until we reach the last farmhouse. From there we take the ascending foot path in a northward direction until we reach the last house. After the gate at the turn-off we keep right along the farm track until we come to a plain alpine meadow. After the rather steep part we keep right again. Taking the constantly ascending alpine path we reach the first hill with alpine meadows and hay huts. We cross the forest trail several times. We keep on over the rampant path (about 150 m) and reach the “Hannes- Hütte”. We take the trail to the right and follow it for about 30 m. Then we come to a hay hut where we can get our control stamp. The descent starts right at this hay hut to the left towards mountain pasture Mattlinger Alm taking the forest trail (about 8 km) to Mattling. At the “Duregger” road after 300 m before reaching the Eggerhof farmhouse we turn left and walk over the old main road to the blacksmith’s shop to Birnbaum. A second possibility is the path ascending to the right to “Motalpe-Feldwiesen”. From there you can hike to Liesing by the mountain pasture Oberraster Alm or you can climb mount Lumkofel. Control stamps at the hay hut near Hannes-Hütte.
