Advisable only during very stable snow conditions (firn!), but always a great spring tour offering fantastic views. Ascent time from Assing 3-3,5 hours. Altitude difference downhill 850 m. Access from Liesing via Pallas to Assing (1427 m; cleared). Along the summer road across the wood in an eastward direction to mountain pastures Oberrasteralm and Mahdalm (1814 m). Cross the wide summit slope of mount Lumkofel to the right in the lower section. Choose the trace carefully, the slope is getting steeper. You may ascend to mountain pasture Oberrasteralm also from the main road (turnoff to Stabenthein) along the new forestry road. (DANGER OF AVALANCHES!) Descent by way of ascent or via mountain pasture Oberrasteralm to Oberring.
