In spring during stable snow conditions you may ascend to Hintersattel starting from Kartitsch or Rauchenbach along Erschbaumertal valley and cross beneath Königwand face to Filmoorsattel. After Kartitsch a road branches off Gailtal valley main road in a southward direction leading to a sawmill. Follow the road into the valley until you reach a ridge that partly closes the top of the valley. Now there are two possibilities: pass by the ridge to the right, turn left and ascend a cirque or keep left at Königwand face, ascend 200 m and cross to the right in a small saddle. There are two cabins; one of them is the Tscharrhütte. These cabins are used for the storage of hay. Go on in a south-east direction between Kinigrat and Königwand face on the one hand and Liköflwand face on the other hand up to Hintersattel. Continue along a short descent from the saddle and cross to the right until you reach Filmoorsattel. Along the flat ridge you’ll reach mount Filmoorhöhe. Ascent time from Kartitsch 3-3,5 hours. Descent by way of ascent. The tour is practicable only during stable snow conditions. Alternative descent: down to Schöntal valley leading to Gailtal valley near Leiten. Across the wide and flat basements in a north-east direction to Schöntalwiesen meadows and across steep slope down to Schöntal valley. The last section leads along a forestry road to Leiten.
