Snow Shoe hike to mountain pasture Lackenalm

lacke

At the eastern village limit of St. Lorenzen the way branches off to the left to Bödnerbauer farm. The way to mountain pasture Lackenalm continues in a northward direction. Hike across a forest and then across alpine meadows to mountain pasture Lackenalm. Northwest of the alpine cabin the signposts will lead you to the road to Tuffbad (possibility to descend). Without great altitude differences you walk to “Durraplatz” – a wide, even pasture. North of the cabin, hidden by trees, there is a huge rock with caverns. To the northwest there are the Lienz Dolomites with the mountains Weittalspitze and Eisenschuß. The destination is not far away now. Descend along the border of the wood across some meadows, the so called “Brettereben”, and reach the road beneath Tuffbad. Or you may descend via the forestry road leading from St. Lorenzen to mountain pasture Lackenalm.
