Playing golf in the valley Lesachtal?

You won’t believe it, but in the most natural valley you’ll find Europe’s first Farmersgolf course! In Niedergail (near Liesing) has been built this exceptional golf course on a surface of 10 hectare and no excavations and artificial changes of the landscape were necessary. You play on an agricultural area.

A new idea in Austria: the pastures are the playground for this new kind of “golf”. No licence is required. Farmersgolf means to walk across meadows with friends, relatives or colleagues. Everyone can play it regardless of age or ability. Two groups of 2-6 people play the holes together and all team players have to hit by turns. The team with the fewest strokes wins. The fee includes the equipment and a beverage. Try it even on a rainy day – it’s great.

Classic Golf?

Beside Farmersgolf there are also regular golf courses in the surroundings. In Lienz you’ll find the “Dolomitengolfplatz”, there’s one in Berg im Drautal and one in Gailtal valley, which is still under construction. All these golf courses are just a few minutes’ drive away and offer plenty of possibilities for golf players!
